Wish You Were Here

A beautiful Monday day to you all! It has been quite a few months since my last blog entry. As you all know sometimes ‘real’ life takes a toll on your internet life and you sort of forget to blog. Time goes by so quickly and soon you notice it has been two months since your last blog entry, and then three, and four… and then you start to feel like you have nothing to write about because so much has happened and, well, it’s too long of a story to tell.

In short my life has changed in the following ways.

  • I’m finishing my bachelor of science degree. It is basically done, I just need to have my final essay to be reviewed.
  • I’ve changed jobs. I had worked at a video store for 2½ years and it was time to get a job that was more about what I am studying at Uni. So now I work as a Test Engineer (part-time of course, I’m still a student).
  • I’ve started to look for a place of my own. Yes, I’m 22, and no it’s actually not that uncommon in Finland to live at your parent’s house as this age. I have been working for the past 3 years, saving money so I can one day get my own appartment. Yes, my own – I’m not going to spend money on rent.

That’s the four months of my life that you have missed. Also my YouTube channel has become quite a success story. So that has kept me farely busy aswell.

Questions for YOU:
-How are you? ^-^
-Have you got plans for the summer? (or winter if you’re in Australia)
-Which summer movie are you most waiting for? (Sex And The City 2, Twilight: Eclipse…)

Welcome back! :) I’ve been working at the same place for just over two years now. I had another job in the past though, and I worked both at the same time. :P I don’t really feel like looking for a new job.

I’m 19. I still live with my parents and I think I will for a very long time to come.

    -How are you? ^-^
    Pretty good! :3
-Have you got plans for the summer? (or winter if you’re in Australia)
LOL thank you for acknowledging where I live. :) I don’t have plans yet – I have break in two weeks… all I really want is to relax I guess. And hopefully hang out with friends.
-Which summer movie are you most waiting for? (Sex And The City 2, Twilight: Eclipse…)
    None – I don’t really watch movies. :P

Yesss, sometimes life does fly right before you eyes and when you go to blog your like, “Dang, it’s been this long…impossible!”

Congrats on finishing your bachelor of science degree :)

I’m only 16 but where I live at the age of 17 your an adult. I plan on moving to my aunts and when I turn 18 me and my bestfriend are thinking of getting an apartment together. It might not happen the way we have it planned but it just might XD

    I am great!
Yes, my plans for the summer are to work and of course have lots of FUN.
    I am waiting for Eclipse.

Welcome back to blogging! I was wondering where you went hehe.

I’m OK, just recovering from a cold .. My plans for this summer are still iffy! I may or may not go to California for one of my cousin’s weddings .. and I’m not really waiting for any movies .. haha.

Congratulations on your degree! Your YouTube channel is so inspiring~

  6. Helene says:

That was the song I was thinking about when you wrote New Yoooork xD I’ve heard it is a wonderful place :)

I can totally relate to your blog!

And for the youtube channel. It is CUTENESS!! :D I think I commented on it a while back, but I think it’s great what you can do ^_^

  7. Shola says:

I would love to work in a video store, but where I work now is nice so i am not too bothered. You’re right, sometime “life” does take over your online life.

I watched some of your youtube videos. It’s brill what you do. I like the MJ one. ;-)

  8. saba says:

hey. thanks for your comment. :D
i really like your site too. its really classic. and yes my drama teacher is crazy. lol

  9. gabrielle says:

that used to happen a lot of times to me too. that’s why i was an on and off blogger last year.

    anyway, congrats on everything.
ill check your youtube channel now. :)

  10. Jenny says:

Yay congrats on getting your BS (aside from final paper.)

I applaud you looking for your own place, and straight buying too?! I couldn’t even imagine living with my parents at this point. I’ve been solo too long LOL

  11. Shelly says:

Heh its ok, I think I went all of last year with a total of…5 blog entries? =P Congratulations on almost graduating and getting your degree!! What is your major?

Your YouTube Channel is amazing! Lol, I need to show it to my younger sister…she LOVES making things out of clay. She’s been making things out of play-doh up until I finally bought her real clay a couple years ago. =P

I like interacting questions hehe. I’m currently enjoying my last summer before I start my senior year by studying for the GREs (exam needed for graduate schools), taking a few classes and working on the tan I’ll probably never have. =P My most anticipated movie was Babies and I wanted it the day it came out. Not really summer but close enough!

Thanks for the hug btw, people like you brighten my day.

  12. Katy says:

I’m 22, have a full time job and still live at home with my parents. It’s common in Asian cultures and I’m not planning on moving out for a while too. Why pay rent to some stranger when you can give it to your parents and still have yummy home-cooked meals?

  13. AnneMarie says:

Congrats on finishing your science degree and getting a job as a test engineer. :D

I don’t think it’s a big deal that you still live with your parents. I think one of my cousins still lives with her parents and she’s probably 25 or something like that. Asian parents don’t mind :D

I checked out your Youtube channel just now. Looks really cool. (: Congrats, it is a success. :D

I suppose a lack of expectations is also implying a lack of passion. :P That does make sense. But sometimes it’s also just being spontaneous. With no expectations you get what comes at you and take it. You can still experience things with a lack of expectations. Because you expect nothing doesn’t mean nothing will come out of it. In fact, expecting nothing can result in getting the most out of an experience.

Being disappointed is a part of life, but I disagree with your last statement. Avoiding expectations can be living life to the fullest. By avoiding them, you forget what others think of you, you forget goals, and you just GO. :D You know, I guess I think of it more as being a spontaneous sort of thing. Having no expecations can still result in disappointment.

  14. Bea says:

thanks Shiri! Glad you like it :). thanks for understanding me. I know. I hope so.

Congrats on finishing your science degree! Good luck on your your new job, sounds interesting.
Your Youtube channel looks interesting. Still I’m 23 and live with my parents and I think I will for a very long time to come, although I guess until I finish my studies and have a good job.

-How are you? Good, thanks:) how about you?
“Have you got plans for the summer? (Or winter if you’re in Australia) I don’t have plans yet, but i really want to relax and spend time with my friends.

  15. Jenn says:

Congrats for finishing a degree of science! I don’t think it’s a big deal staying in your parents house at your age.

    -How are you? ^-^
    Fine! :)
-Have you got plans for the summer? (or winter if you’re in Australia)
Summer is already over here, too bad.

  16. Catherine says:

Ah I totally get what you’re talking about xP Although it’s never been months for me xP Maybe a couple of weeks with a few failed random blogs in the middle about why/how I haven’t been blogging, lol xP

Congrats on all that you have been able to achieve over these past couple of months ^_^ That’s great :D

-How are you? ^-^ Good ;)
-Have you got plans for the summer? (or winter if you’re in Australia) Going away :P
-Which summer movie are you most waiting for? (Sex And The City 2, Twilight: Eclipse…) Umm Harry Potter :D Eclipse… and yeah xP

  17. Aly says:

Welcome back to the blogosphere. :) Don’t worry, a lot of people disappear sporadically like that – real life just carries you away sometimes, doesn’t it?

Congratulations on finishing your science degree! Very impressive, kudos to you. :) What was your major/specialization? Good luck too with the house hunt – I think it’s amazing to be able to actually BUY your own home at 22! I’m 24 and I can’t even afford to rent a place of my own, nevermind buy one! I’ve conceded to live with my dad (well, it’s a step up from homelessness, haha) – and here in Australia, that IS somewhat uncommon! Not to mention a tad embarrassing, lol.

Also, I love your little sculptures in the Youtube videos. Very cute!

    As for your questions…
    -How are you? ^-^
_Oscillating wildly between mania and despair. ;) Nah, I’m kidding, I’m pretty peachy. And you?
-Have you got plans for the summer? (or winter if you’re in Australia)
_My plans for winter are to keep warm, drink a lot of coffee and stay in bed as much as possible. :)
-Which summer movie are you most waiting for? (Sex And The City 2, Twilight: Eclipse…)
_None. I have no idea what’s even coming out! I honestly go to the cinema about twice per year, thrice tops. Sad, no?

There is no shame in still living at home. I don’t live at home at the moment because i’m doing my 4th year in sale, which is 3 hours away so i’m living in a house with 3 other med students. i’ve been wanting to move out of house since i was 18 however i don’t have the money. good on you for working hard and saving money!

i just started holidays. so my plans are to relax and spend time with my friends & family as much as i can !

i saw prince of persia the other day. loved it!! also can’t wait to see SATC!

  19. Kendra says:

Lol yup. People actually say RAY-MEN noodles. Mostly it is older people I think. Oyy. -.-

Congrats on your degree – that’s fantastic. I am no where near being complete with my degree. I wish I was though, it gets tiring doing all this work. :(

Good luck with the apartment and what not. I just got a house with my fiance that we’re renting. It’s really difficult but it’s worth it in the end.

    :D

  20. You wouldn’t feel it but I’ve wasted all day digging for some articles about this. You will be a lifesaver, it was an very good read and has helped me out to no end. Cheers!

  21. Surprisingly, umpteen long time aficionados don’t bother to learn this.
