I’ve fallen in love with a k-pop song called “Going Crazy“. Then I read some of the comments and noticed that many were comparing this music (beat) and the video to Rhianna’s and Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie“. And it’s true, they are very similar. Though, I like this korean one sooo much more ;)
Then, the latest scandal in the Eurovision Song Contest caught my eye. Denmark’s song “New Tomorrow” has been compared to a bunch of different songs. For example a japanese band MUCC (they’ve been to Finland too ^-^) has a song called “Yasashii Uta“, and yes the songs sound VERY similar.
Is the music entertainment slowly coming to its end as far as originality goes? Are there any new beats to create and new lyrics/stories to tell? Many say Lady Gaga has changed the music industry but “Born This Way” sounds so familiar. It’s not that original. Or maybe that is what makes some songs so popular – they feel familiar.
Then, when you can’t make up anything new – you sing cover songs of your all time favorites. Some cover songs are pretty bad – but some of them tend to be amazing! Like this Purple Rain (Prince cover) by Natasha Bedingfield.
I know I’m sort of all over the place with this blog post. But it sort of describes what I’ve been doing lately – been here & there & everywhere. That is, distracted from my blog once again.
What’s your favorite song at the moment?
